साल 1906 में बंगाल के मिदनापुर में एक मेले में एक 15 साल का लड़का अंग्रेज़ों के खिलाफ पर्चा बांट रहा था। वन्दे मातरम नाम से बांटे जाने वाले इस पर्चे को स्वतंत्रता सेनानी सत्येंद्रनाथ बोस ने लिखा था। पर्चा बांटते वक्त लड़के को अंग्रेज़ों के जासूस रामचरण सेन ने देख लिया। उसने इसकी सूचना सिपाही को दी। सिपाही ने उस लड़को को पकड़ लिया। लड़के ने अंग्रेज सिपाही के मुंह पर ज़ोर का मुक्का मारा और भाग गया।
ये लड़का और कोई नहीं बल्कि युवा क्रांतिकारी खुदीराम थे…जी हां वही खुदीराम बोस जिन्हें 18 साल की छोटी सी उम्र में मुज़फ्फरपुर षड़्यंत्र केस में अंग्रेज़ों ने फांसी दी…खुदीराम बोस के क्रांतिकारी जीवन की कहानी आपके रोंगटे खड़े कर देगी।
खुदराम बोस का जीवन परिचय
खुदीराम का जन्म 3 दिसंबर, 1889 को बंगाल में मिदनापुर के हबीबपुर गांव में हुआ। बचपन में ही माता-पिता का निधन होने पर उनकी बड़ी बहन ने उनका लालन-पालन किया। साल 1905 में बंगाल का विभाजन होने के बाद खुदीराम बोस आजादी के आंदोलन में कूद पड़े। सत्येन बोस खुदीराम बोस के क्रांतिकारी गुरू थे।
खुदीराम बोस छात्र जीवन में ही जलसे जुलूसों में जाने लगे और अंग्रेजी हुकूमत के खिलाफ नारे लगाने लगे। 9वीं क्लास के बाद उन्होंने पढ़ाई छोड़ दी और जंग-ए-आजादी में कूद पड़े। उस दौर में एक जालिम अंग्रेज जज हुआ करता था डगलस किंग्सफोर्ड जो भारतीय क्रांतिकारियों को भयानक सज़ा देता था। 15 साल की उम्र में उसने खुदीराम बोस को 15 कोड़े मारने की सज़ा दी थी।

किंग्सफोर्ड से परेशान भारतीय क्रांतिकारियों ने एकजुट होकर उसकी हत्या का प्लान बनाया और उसकी जिम्मेदारी खुदीराम बोस और प्रफ्फुल चंद्र चाकी को दी गई। डर के मारे किंग्सफोर्ड ने अपना ट्रांसफर बंगाल से बिहार करा लिया। ऐसे में दोनों क्रांतिकारी बिहार के मुजफ्फरपुर जिले पहुंचे और मौका देखकर उन्होंने किंग्सफोर्ड की बग्घी में बम फेंक दिया। मगर अफसोस बग्घी में किंग्सफोर्ड नहीं था।
इस हमले में दूसरे अंग्रेज़ अधिकारी की पत्नी की मौत हो गई। इसके बाद पुलिस उनके पीछे पड़ गई। वैनी रेलवे स्टेशन पर पुलिस ने खुदीराम बोस को गिरफ्तार कर लिया जबकि मोकामा रेलवे स्टेशन पर खुद को पुलिस से घिरा देख प्रफुल्ल चंद्र चाकी ने अपने आपको गोली मार ली और शहीद हो गए।
खुदीराम बोस का नारा
खुदीराम पर अंग्रेज़ों की अदालत में केस चला। जज कॉर्नडॉफ ने खुदीराम से पूछा तुम बम बनाना जानते हो? उन्होंने कहा कि मेरे वकील ने कहा है कि मैं अभी कम उम्र हूं. मैं बम नहीं बना सकता हूं। जज साहब, आप मेरे साथ चलो, मैं आपको भी बम बनाना सिखा दूंगा। ये सुनकर जज कॉर्नडॉफ हिल गया और उसने फांसी की सज़ा का ऐलान कर दिया।
कितनी उम्र में खुदीराम बोस को फांसी हुई?
11 अगस्त 1908 को खुदीराम बोस को मुजफ्फरपुर जेल में फांसी दे दी गई. जब खुदीराम को फांसी दी गई तो उनकी उम्र 18 साल 8 महीने और 8 दिन थी. खुदीराम की शहादत से पूरा देश दर्द से कराह उठा। तमाम जगहों पर विरोध प्रदर्शन हुए और लोगों ने शोक मनाया। खुदीराम की शहादत आज भी हमारे दिल में देशभक्ति की भावना भर देती है। उनके बलिदान को हम कोटि-कोटि नमन करते हैं।

Story of Khudiram Bose
In the year 1906, a 15-year-old boy was distributing pamphlets against the British at a fair in Midnapore, Bengal. This pamphlet, distributed under the name Vande Mataram, was written by freedom fighter Satyendranath Bose. While distributing the pamphlet, the boy was seen by British spy Ramcharan Sen. He informed the soldier about this. The soldier caught the boy. The boy punched the British soldier hard on the face and ran away.
This boy was none other than the young revolutionary Khudiram… Yes, the same Khudiram Bose who was hanged by the British in the Muzaffarpur Conspiracy Case at the young age of 18… The story of Khudiram Bose’s revolutionary life will send chills down your spine.
Khudiram was born on December 3, 1889 in Habibpur village of Midnapore in Bengal. When his parents died in his childhood, his elder sister brought him up. After the partition of Bengal in 1905, Khudiram Bose jumped into the freedom movement. Satyen Bose was Khudiram Bose’s revolutionary guru.
Khudiram Bose started participating in rallies and processions during his student life and started raising slogans against the British rule. After 9th class, he left his studies and jumped into the freedom struggle. At that time, there was a cruel British judge named Douglas Kingsford who used to give terrible punishments to Indian revolutionaries. At the age of 15, he punished Khudiram Bose with 15 lashes.
The Indian revolutionaries, troubled by Kingsford, united and planned to kill him and the responsibility was given to Khudiram Bose and Prafulla Chandra Chaki. Out of fear, Kingsford got himself transferred from Bengal to Bihar. In such a situation, both the revolutionaries reached Muzaffarpur district of Bihar and seeing the opportunity, they threw a bomb in Kingsford’s carriage. But unfortunately Kingsford was not in the carriage.
The wife of the other British officer died in this attack. After this the police started chasing them. The police arrested Khudiram Bose at Vaini railway station while Prafulla Chandra Chaki shot himself on seeing himself surrounded by the police at Mokama railway station and became a martyr.
A case was filed against Khudiram in the British court. Judge Corndoff asked Khudiram, do you know how to make bombs? He said that my lawyer has said that I am still young. I cannot make bombs. Judge sir, you come with me, I will teach you to make bombs. Hearing this, Judge Corndoff was shaken and he announced the death sentence.
At what age was Khudiram Bose hanged?
On 11 August 1908, Khudiram Bose was hanged in Muzaffarpur jail. When Khudiram was hanged, his age was 18 years 8 months and 8 days. The entire country was in pain due to Khudiram’s martyrdom. Protests were held at many places and people mourned. Khudiram’s martyrdom still fills our hearts with patriotism. We pay our respects to his sacrifice.
